Big Sports Weekend

There must be something strange in the water that Colorado athletes are drinking. On Saturday the University of Colorado Buffaloes upset the No. 3-ranked team in nation - Oklahoma - at Folsom Field. It all came down to a field goal with only seconds remaining in the game. I usually could care less who wins and who loses, but it is always kinda nice to photograph a winning home team, especially given the Golden Buffs only beat 2 teams all last year. Then, on Monday the Colorado Rockies beat San Diego in a National League Wild Card Playoff game at Coors Field. Although the Rocks were scoring early, the Padres kept answering, keeping everyone on their toes. The game was so long I was honestly getting a little bored in about the 11th inning due to lack of game action. I saw more people praying in the stands than I have ever seen in church. Perhaps the baseball God did answer the Rockies fans, because Matt Holliday scored the winning run in the 13th inning. The place was going nuts. These 'down to the wire' sporting events - which I have photographed a few this fall - are starting to take a toll on my blood pressure. I am always nervous that I am going to mess up royally at the last minute. Not to say that these are the best, but at least they're in focus...kinda.

I'm jealous; I wish I could have been at the 11-inning game. Sports is your forte.
