Super Tuesday

Super Tuesday turned out to be SUPER. I was assigned to photograph both Republican and Democratic Caucuses at two schools here in Longmont. I expected to get to the schools and see a handful of people sitting at a cafeteria table, voting and going home. Yet, to my surprise a lot of people seem to be getting more involved. I don't know why, but it seems to me that more and more people are becoming passionate about selecting the next POTUS.

I really do think people are caring more and more about changing the face of American politics. If nothing else the discussion is great, mainly because we are free to have the discussion. I see the news coming out of places like Kenya right now and wonder why so many Americans today don't get involved. There are people in this world who would kill (and are, by the way) to have the voting rights we have today. Yet, so many people would rather sit at home in front of their 60" plasma and weigh the option of which American Idol they will cast a vote for.

As the debate of which candidate was better for America waged on tonight an Obama supporter compared the Clinton and Bush dynasties to the Banana Republic. A man quickly stood up and said, "Ma'am, with all due respect this is not, nor will it ever be, the Banana Republic." This is America and people are charged. Either that or I am becoming more perceptive.

Dig the megaphone frame down the aisle. You shot better than I did in Boulder.
