In March 2005 I was assigned to cover Silver Creek girls playoff basketball in Colorado Springs. The team lost to Broomfield and their dreams were crushed. They were a young team then and everyone kept saying 'Wait until they're seniors, they will dominate.' Well, they're seniors now and they're on a roll.
Tonight, for the first time in the team's history they are in the Class 4A Championship game. And who do they face? Broomfield, of course. It is pretty cool to see a team grow and succeed over the years...
Here are a few from tonight in Boulder where they beat the Pueblo East Eagles (my mom's alma mater.) Oh yeah, today is her birthday. Too bad her old high school had to face the Raptors on this day...
