I came in on the tail end of this story about adoption when a fellow staffer couldn't make it to work. She had been photographing this family for a while and when the big day came she couldn't be there. I will admit that I was happy to step in, as it was a pretty good assignment, I think. It was very fun to see such a cute, happy and bright little girl named Patti be accepted into a "forever family." Magistrate Kristina Hansson opened the ceremony by saying people usually aren't thrilled about being in her court, so this day, which happened to be National Adoption Day, was dubbed "Happy Court." Good times.
