On the road: An accident, a horse, and a cat

A huge accident involving two cars south of town claimed two lives late yesterday afternoon and I was sent out to the scene. The crash was so bad emergency personnel kept us back as they worked on the car fire and the patients involved.

Sometimes while photographing something so horrific it helps to notice something nice. As all of this unfolded on the highway the sun was dipping behind the Rocky Mountains, showering the landscape with warm light. Horses grazed in a field only to be disrupted when a medical helicopter buzzed overhead. The moment was gone. But at least I got a few frames before having to return to reality.

To top this all off, while walking back to the truck I noticed another fatality. Unlike the others there were no firetrucks, ambulances or police. Just a cat who I suspect left behind one worried family.

Now, to find some good news...

LOVE the light in the horse shot man. Nice stuff as of recent man...I meant to leave a message earlier about the girl running out of the building. Really great moment with such context to it. We should,or rather, need to do a print swap sometime soon. Word.
