After photographing Navy Chief Petty Officer Matt Dooley and his new recruits in a weekly PT session in the parking lot, we had a chat. A lot of older people are coming into his office, he says. And, in this economy, why not? "Three hots and a cot," as my boss says.

Job security.

Travel.

Tattoos.

Furlough. (Well I've already got that part down pat.)

"When you mean older...how old is older?" I ask Chief Dooley.

"Oh, 30," he replies. "How old are you? I can get you in a base newspaper or combat photographer job."

Hmmmm. I'm gonna be 30 soon, but I just hate laying down in the parking lot.
