"It's clover honey," beekeeper Miles McGaughey of Mountain Warrior Honey exclaims after a taste from a hive in a fallen tree on the 400 block of Baker Street in Longmont on Friday, June 22, 2007. McGaughey, with the assistance of firefighter Jack Davis and the Longmont Fire Department's tower truck crew, gathered most of the bees after a silver maple tree broke at 421 Baker St. A gust of wind felled the tree around 4:30 p.m. and damaged Michael and Cathy Cooney's porch at 413 Baker St. The fall destroyed the beehive, killing the queen bee and sending the swarm of 50,000 to 60,000 into survival mode, McGaughey said. One bee stung Cathy Cooney, who is allergic to bee stings, in the face. Paramedics treated her at her home. She said she was feeling fine after the incident. Bees also stung several bystanders, including firefighter Mike Manzo. City forester Ken Wicklund estimated the tree stood 75 feet tall and was 75 years old. Bees hasten the decay process of older trees with heart rot after they move in, Wicklund said. He and his crew worried about public safety in the area and planned to dispose of the "biomass" of the hive before cutting up the tree. (Times-Call photo by Joshua Buck)

That was the longest "caption" I have ever seen in newsprint.
Fun story though.
